Constraints of App
HMH Fuse Algebra I CC provides only a sample--Chapter 2--for users free of charge. The full 10 chapters may be purchased at $19.99 for an individual user; schools receive a bulk discount of $54.99 for a six-year license. In a time of financial prudence, this may make HMH Fuse Algebra I CC unobtainable for some districts.
Ideas for use
Teachers may use the app to replace their traditional textbook lesson. In addition, teachers may modify their traditional lesson format so that students complete the instructional elements at home--reading the section unit and watching the video tutorials--then complete the practice exercises in class. HMH Fuse Algebra I CC has been shown to dramatically improve standardized test scores, as seen by this article by Mindshift.
HMH Fuse 1 is directly correlated to the Common Core standards.
